 They're cool dude!
In 1993 there were two hairy bikers living on a major trunk road
just outside Zurich, Switzerland.
Being designers, also poor, and needing messenger bags they thought they would
try to make a couple from the tarpaulins often discarded in the nearby truck
depot.
At least they would be unique and because tarps are tough and waterproof they
would end up with tough and waterproof bags. And so it happened ...
They made a couple for themselves, then for friends, then a shop came asking,
and another ...
Today Freitag Bags are still cut by hand from old tarps but they have added
bicycle inner tubes, car seat belts and used airbags to their range of recycled
materials.
The workshop is a little bigger but is still next to the truck route in Zurich.
Each Bag is Unique
Each bag will be 'of a type', cut from an original template but the materials
used will differ making every bag completely unique and a 'one off'.
 A good selection of bags and
